About Me

I am a student at East Tennessee State University. I am currently a senior majoring in K-6 and have been observing, helping and assisting students in the classroom with their work. I am really enjoying working in this field experience and can not wait until I am a official teacher, pursuing my passion in helping children learn. I love to see the excitement and motivation in children when they really get inspired and interested in learning new material and concepts. I have always loved reading and art and love children s own creative designs and talents being brought out and shown, while their ideas are brought to life. I love connecting art and technology with all subjects and learning. I love hands on projects, educational games and lessons while learning new concepts. I am originally from Milford, Delaware but moved here to Piney Flats, TN my senior year of high school. I graduated from Sullivan East High School and started attending East Tennessee State University since then on and off. After having several changes in majors and some life experiences, I found out that my passion was really teaching. I have a eight year old son named Brenden and a toy poodle named Baby. I have one sister and two brothers. I love the beach, circus, rollerskating, fair, park and going to comedy shows and movies. I also like to draw and see artwork (mainly mosaic, contemporary, abstract and modern).

I love life and believe that I am in charge of how I feel and today as well as everyday, I am choosing happiness. Smiling, joking and laughter are contagious and I believe seeing the positive side of life (being optimistic) is the best way to look at it. The glass is always half full. I believe that all children can learn and that everyone should embrace diversity and look at each persons strengths and what they can help contribute. Knowledge is power and I believe that every child should have a right to an equal, positive, supportive education.
